Audiópolis renews its appointment for 2015! First event of the season the artistic duo Peter Bosch & Simone Simons and the Italian Matteo Marangoni. On Friday January 23, 2015, at 8:00 pm will take place the concerts in the Auditorium of CentroCentro.
Free entrance until full capacity. The same day from 6:00 pm will open the listening space of Audiópolis, on the 5th floor of CentroCentro, this time presenting work of the respective artists.
Bosch & Simons and Matteo Marangoni, on January 21, 2015 will be in Murcia, for the project “Experimentadores en la Fonoteca” of SONM in the exhibition hall of the Cultural Center “Puertas de Castilla”. This activity is also curated by Francisco López.

From 1985, the beginning of our collaboration in Amsterdam, we have been involved in performances, concerts and theatre productions. Since 1990, however, we have focused in particular on the development of autonomous “music machines”. Within Spain we have shown our work, among others, at Metrònom, Barcelona (2001, 2004 and 2005), the Museu d’Art Modern de Tarragona (2003), at the Centro del Carme, La Nau and the Teatro Principal in Valencia (Ensems, 2000, 2004 and 2014) and at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid (Nits d Aielo i Art, 1999 and 2004). We have given workshops at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2002 and 2005), at the cultural centre Antiguo Instituto de Gijon (2004 and 2005) and at LIEM, Museo Reina Sofía (2005) and more recently at FACT, Liverpool, 2012 and Nits d Aielo i Art, Valencia, 2014.
The Krachtgever is our best-known piece for its Golden Nica, received in 1998 at the Prix Ars Electronica, Linz, in the category of Digital Musics. Another well-known project is Aguas Vivas, which obtained a mention at VIDA 6.0, Madrid, 2003 and was shown at various locations worldwide. In 2009 a retrospective exhibition of our work was held at La Tour-du-Pin, France, curated by GRAME, Lyon. More recent works are Mirlitones and Wilberforces.
Peter Bosch (1958) studied psychology at the Universities of Leiden and Amsterdam (1976-‘83) and thereafter studied sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (1986-‘87). Simone Simons (1961) studied at the audiovisual department of the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam (1980-‘85). Since 1997 they work and live in Valencia, Spain.

Matteo Marangoni
Focusing on the potential of listening to establish new connections between people, places and objects, Matteo Marangoni’s performances and installations employ field recordings, sound archives, computer programming and DIY electronics. Finding unconventional uses for audio technologies and other media, his work probes the relationship between sound, space and the body, approaching the body of the listener through physical experiences that collapse and reshape the space between subject and object. He studied at the ArtScience Interfaculty in The Hague under the guidance of Edwin van der Heide, where he initiated a research trajectory on non-virtual techniques for sound spatialization based on mobile robotic loudspeakers. His work has been presented at venues such as STEIM (Amsterdam), November Music (Den Bosch), Ethonologisches Museum (Berlin), NAISA (Toronto), European Media Art Festival (Osnabruck), Triennale di Milano (Milan), Q-02 (Brussels). His installation “Quiet Before the Storm” received an honorary mention at the Sonic Arts Award 2014. He is a founding member of the artist-run platform “iii” and curates the nomadic performance program “No Patent Pending”.

¡Audiópolis renueva su cita para el año 2015! Primer evento de la temporada el dúo artístico Peter Bosch & Simone Simons y el italiano Matteo Marangoni. El viernes 23 de enero de 2015, a las 20:00 horas tendrán lugar sus conciertos en el Auditorio de CentroCentro.
Entrada libre hasta completar aforo. El mismo día a partir de las 18:00 horas abrirá el espacio de escucha de Audiópolis en la 5ª planta de CentroCentro, esta vez presentando trabajo de los respectivos artistas.
Bosch & Simons y Matteo Marangoni, el 21 de enero de 2015 estarán en Murcia, en la sala de exposiciones del Centro Cultural Puertas de Castilla, para el programa Experimentadores en la Fonoteca de SONM. La actividad también está comisariada por Francisco López.

Desde el principio de nuestra colaboración en Ámsterdam, 1985, hemos abarcado varias y distintas actividades, tales como performances, conciertos y producciones teatrales. A partir de 1990, sin embargo, hemos centrado nuestra atención en la construcción de “máquinas musicales”. Dentro de España hemos mostrado nuestra obra entre otros en Metrònom, Barcelona (2001, 2004 y 2005), el Museu d´Art Modern de Tarragona (2003), en el Centro del Carme, La Nau y Teatro Principal Valencia (Ensems, 2000, 2004 y 2014) y en el Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid (Nits d´Aielo i Art, 1999 y 2004). También hemos impartido talleres en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (2002 y 2005), en el centro cultural Antiguo Instituto de Gijon (2004 y 2005) y en el LIEM, Museo Reina Sofía (2005).
Recientemente hemos impartido talleres en FACT, Liverpool, 2012 y Nits d´Aielo i Art, Valencia, 2014.
Internacionalmente nos conocen sobre todo por la obra Krachtgever que recibió un Golden Nica en 1998 en el concurso Prix Ars Electronica, Linz, 1998, en la sección de Digital Musics. Otra obra conocida es Aguas Vivas que recibió una mención en VIDA, Madrid, 2003, obra que ha sido expuesta internacionalmente en diversos centros de arte e instituciones. En otoño 2009 GRAME, Lyon organizó un retrospectivo de nuestra obra desde 1990 en La Tour du Pin, Francia. Obras más recientes son Mirlitones y Wilberforces.

Matteo Marangoni
Centrándose en el potencial de la escucha para establecer nuevas conexiones entre personas, lugares y objetos, las performances e instalaciones de Matteo Marangoni emplean grabaciones de campo, archivos de sonido, programación informática y electrónica DIY. Encontrando usos no convencionales para las tecnologías de audio y otros medios, su trabajo explora la relación entre el sonido, el espacio y el cuerpo, acercándose al cuerpo del oyente a través de las experiencias físicas que colapsan y remodelan el espacio entre sujeto y objeto. Estudió en Art Science Interfaculty en La Haya, bajo la dirección de Edwin van der Heide, donde inició una trayectoria de investigación en técnicas no virtuales para la espacialización del sonido, basado en altavoces robóticos móviles. Su obra se ha presentado en escenarios como STEIM (Amsterdam), Música de noviembre (Den Bosch), Ethonologisches Museum (Berlín), NAISA (Toronto), European Media Art Festival (Osnabrück), Triennale di Milano (Milán), Q-02 (Bruselas). Su instalación “Quiet Before the Storm” recibió una mención honorífica en el Premio de las Artes Sonoras 2014. Es miembro fundador de la plataforma dirigida por artistas “iii” y está comisariando el programa de performances nómada “No Patent Pending”.
